| The Bondi Strut (pack your sunnies!) |
| After doing some extensive traveling in and around this beautiful country, it has come to our attention that there is a far higher concentration of ridiculously good-looking people in Sydney’s Bondi to Coogee region than anywhere else on the continent... and they definitely aren’t too shy to show it off. In fact, the sheer density of beautiful, bronzed, ripped bodies, catwalk-worthy styles and over-sized sunglasses in this region has become a tourist attraction on it’s own... we call this the ‘Bondi-strut’. And, it’s free. Arming yourself with a heavily-tinted pair of sunnies and the latest contour-hugging lycra styles from the beaches of the Med, start your strut-adventure on the picturesque backpacker hang-out of Coogee Beach (just keep an ear-out for the Irish accents and you can’t miss it). From here, make your way up to the northern headland of the beach, which is where the walk officially starts. We probably add in here that the ‘Bondi-Strut’ is more commonly known as the ‘Bondi to Coogee Walk’ and offers a lot more than just beautiful bods.. such as views and beaches and stuff.. (but their all just added bonuses along the way). By the time you get to Clovelly, you probably would have started to break a sweat, and there’s no better place to freshen up than the cool blue waters of Clovelly Bay, which also offers some spectacular snorkeling and diving if your keen. All this looking beautiful can be hard work and by the time you get to Bronte, chances are you would have worked up quite an appetite, which is perfect because this beautiful sea-side suburb is also home to some very trendy cafes where you can re-charge those batteries with a good ol’ double-shot soy late with a skim froth. However don’t spend too much time sipping and nibbling your way around Bronte because the jewell of the Bondi Strut lies glistening just around the corner. Tamarama, or Glamarama as it is better known, is beautiful, trendy and drop-dead gorgeous (if you have heart problems, maybe you should just skip this section all together) Jealous partners - get your slapping hands ready! This naturally beautiful beach sits flanked by picturesque, wind-sculpted sandstone cliffs that double as lounging platforms for Sydney’s most beautiful people. From these vantage points, scantily-clad models and socialites can gaze over their flaunting grounds, every now and then, gracefully wondering out onto the sand and down to the shallow water where they can skip around and start up fake water fights while giving their ankles a good soaking. Further up the beach, situated in the vicinity of the volley-ball courts is a place we have come to know as ‘lycra-land’, where the standard dress-code is enough to put any Rio De Janeiro beach goer to shame. And when you finally manage to peel yourself off Glamarama beach, it’s only a short strut around the next point to the world famous Bondi Beach. While a cold drink at the ‘Icebergs Bar’ on Bondi’s Southern point might seem tempting, we urge you to soldier-on along Bondi Beach to the north side and make your way back along the beach-side walkway - strutting opportunities are epic!
